From the Sound of the Accordion to the Voice of the Heart: An Analysis of the Path of Accordion Art in Liuxing Street in Strengthening the Sense of Community of the Chinese Nation

Abstract

Liuxing Street, a typical multi-ethnic embedded community in Yili, Xinjiang, has explored a path to cultivate a sense of community by using the accordion as a medium, moving from sensory resonance to value recognition. This paper takes the Alexander Accordion Museum and the Yili National Unity Accordion Band as examples, employing a "sensory layer-emotional layer-identity layer" research perspective to deeply analyze how the accordion art transforms from physical sound to emotional resonance and then to value recognition in a multi-ethnic community. However, from the perspective of inheritance, the accordion art is not entirely integrated; it requires attention to the improvement of inheritance, dissemination, mechanisms, and cognitive dimensions. Based on this, several models and methods are proposed, including revitalizing inheritance, expanding communication space, strengthening narrative dissemination, and embedding institutional guarantees. It is hoped that this will provide a micro-sample that can be used as a reference for multi-ethnic border regions to strengthen the sense of community of the Chinese nation by promoting the integration of the accordion into community governance.
