The Application and Development of Bel Canto Vocal Performance in Music Education

Abstract

Bel Canto vocal performance, as an important form of musical expression, plays an irreplaceable role in music education. Its historical roots can be traced back to the 18th century. After multiple stages of development, it formed a unique artistic style and teaching philosophy. This paper aims to explore the application of Bel Canto in music education, including its teaching principles, the enhancement of students' musical literacy, and curriculum design and practice. The research shows that Bel Canto not only promotes the improvement of vocal techniques and expressiveness, but also cultivates students' artistic literacy and self-confidence. Additionally, this paper analyzes the role of Bel Canto in advancing the diversity and innovation of music education.
